Loving, Sharing, Serving, and Reaching Others Through the Word of Christ. In this Church community, you will find people loving God and each other. We share our spiritual gifts, our financial gifts, and the gift of our presence with each other. Through different worship services and many ministries and programs, we love to serve. We do not just serve the people who come into the Church buildings; we go out in to the world to reach the arms of Jesus' love to everyone in Morehead City, North Carolina and even outside of the country! Our mission is grounded and founded in the Word of Christ.

Project MHC as an overnight experience for our rising 6th-12th graders this summer! Our projects are secured through Carteret Long Term Recovery Alliance and we will be working throughout the county on homes damaged in Hurricane Florence and Dorian. Project MHC is designed to be an overnight experience so youth participating are required to spend the night. Youth will be required to fill out a health screening form 2 weeks prior to the event and are asked to limit activities so that they can arrive healthy and ready to work.
A summer experience for rising 10th-12th grade girls
The commitment: Three 1-hour long monthly meetings in May-July, ending with an overnight retreat in August
The dates: 9-10am on May 8th, June 19th, and July 10th, PLUS an overnight retreat beginning at 3pm on August 20th and ending at 3pm on August 21st
The details: Join Pastor Sarah, Anna Segrave, Darley Collins and Liz Avon as we tackle what it means to find our identity and value in Christ. We will have guest speakers and learn about confidence, being good stewards of our bodies through positive nutrition and exercise, and dive deep into God’s word as we study Psalm 139. Have you ever looked in the mirror and disliked the face staring back at you? Have you ever allowed the words of the world to define you instead of the Word of God? Do you want to find a group of friends and get to know other young women committed to Jesus? Then this group is totally a place for you to come and grow! Sign up for this awesome opportunity ASAP - spaces are limited due to housing for the retreat and because we want to foster a small group environment! Monthly meetings will take place at First United Methodist Church and Pastor Sarah will host the girls and their leaders overnight at her house. College aged women who have graduated (or are graduating this year) from FUMC youth ministry are invited and encouraged to come participate as junior leaders!
High School Seniors
Each year the FUMC Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to deserving students who plan to continue their education beyond the high school level. Priority for awards goes to FUMC members with financial need, but other community residents may also apply. Email application to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line: Scholarship Application. To be considered, completed applications must be received in the church office by April 30, 2021.
Text FUMCMHC to 77977
FUMCMHC offers text giving capabilities in addition to our church app. Church members simply text FUMCMHC to 77977, complete a one-time registration and confirm the amount and other required details (credit card or bank information). Once you have made your first contribution, all you have to do is text the amount you want to give and the fund you wish to give to (example: 100.00 OF). It’s as easy as that and more secure than the offering plate. Contact Kim McCoury or for details.

Use the link below to sign up. Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The staff at MCPS will help you get started.
