Youth are not the future of the church, they are part of the church! We strive to make sure youth feel welcome in all aspects of church life! Our youth group meets Sunday afternoons from 5-6:30 PM (Labor Day through Memorial Day), Sunday mornings during Sunday school (year round) and for special events throughout the year!
Youth events and meetings are led by Pastors Powell and Sarah, Coordinator of Youth Outreach -Waylon Bell, and a team of trained volunteers! All volunteers must pass a background check and participate in Safe Sanctuaries training (Provided at the church). We are always looking to grow our volunteer base, so please contact any of our pastors if you are interested.
6th -12th grader can follow FUMCmhc on Instagram OR if you would prefer, use the FUMCmhc church app! Its free and we post all the same content there! Zoom Rooms meet on Wednesdays. Pastor Sarah will send you the link via remind to join.
Youth Sunday School meets at 9:00 am so youth can attend the Rise service. This class is led by Waylon Bell and there is also an adult class offered at this time, nursery and childcare provided!
Youth and Children's ministry meets on Sunday Evenings (the Sunday after Labor Day through the Sunday before Memorial Day) from 5-6:30 PM for a time of worship, dinner and age appropriate small groups! The building remains open until 7 PM on Sunday nights to give youth in 6th-12th grades a chance to have some open fellowship time in the Loft. We have two small groups for youth:
Magnify - Middle School Youth
Magnify is a group where youth learn how to magnify their faith in God by learning more about the Bible and what we believe as United Methodist Christians
Amplify - High School Youth
Amplify is a group for youth to be able to amplify their faith through service, study, prayer and fellowship.
Our youth praise band is led by Jason Ketchum and meets at 4:00 pm on Sunday evenings when we have Sunday evening programming. We are always welcoming new members! Our youth praise band leads worship during youth group each Sunday evening.
